Today was a day of extremes. We started off with a tour of the French Quarter, followed by the Katrina Memorial, which does a great job displaying just how disastrous it really was. Above is a teddy bear that was recovered, a symbol of the valuables and irreplaceable parts of lives lost in the storm.
Above the Katrina exhibit was the Mardi Gras museum, displaying the extravagant costumes and parts of the festival. Above is one of a couple of the costumes from previous kings of Mardi Gras. All I can say is that if I could get a costume even one quarter as flashy as this, I’d be nothing short of blissful. Regardless, the possibilities for Mardi Gras are endless, and I’m pumped. Until then, may God bless you in all you do.
